A WORD FITLY SPOKEN
Text: Proverbs 25:11-12 "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver: Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold is a wise rebuke to an obedient ear.
Gold is a precious gem, so is silver. But the former has more value than the latter. A word rightly spoken is likened to apples of gold in the midst of silver. It is unmistakable. Only fools doubt proofs. When a right answer is proffered, everyone keeps quite.
As gold is rare to find, a word fitly spoken is not just gotten on the surface. It is based on revelation of divine secrets. So was the account of Job in the twenty ninth chapter verses 9-11. An English Proverb says "A good word melts the cold of February while a bad word can freeze the month of June".
Our joy or otherwise is determined by the words we speak. Human being have been wired to multiply what we are given. If you sow discord., you are likely to be in company of others who will multiply same to you. If you frustrate people, you are likely to have it in abundance through the people close to you. Proverbs 15:23
Start your day with morning prayer, study the word of God. Master and use very frequently, words that promote love and kindness. Words that bind and not promote contention or division. Pay attention to your written and spoken words. Speak comfortably to many on your way or through your telephone conversations. Words that edify are better in the mouth than those who can crush others. Your words determine your company and your future.
Pray with me, Father, help me to keep custody of my tongue in patience, let me speak wisely today in Jesus name. Amen
