A ROUGH JOURNEY THAT LED TO A GLORIOUS DESTINATION
Text: Gen27:43; 28:11-22; 32:24-29
We look at this in two perceptive
One we see the unrighteous deed of Jacob that led to all the struggle and suffering in pass through for 20+ years, though it was also a lesson to us as a Christian: many look at this, and because of it they took wrong step thinking what he does is right
The second thing is that we see the exaltation and believing in man than God in the life of Esau that led to dejection and disobedience to God and his father

The story of Jacob and Esau begins at the very crucial point when Isaac was facing the challenge of hereditary barrenness; I believe you know what I mean by this, (Abram) actually he was called at the age of 75years it was until 99years that the Lord broke the power of barrenness in his wife's life  that led to the round step they took, because they use what we called human calculation through the opinion of his wife, that made her to move him to take her maid, also her reaction when God answered her request which led to division and opposition of the two brother that led to religious practices (Christian/Muslim) that people practice today (Gen16:1-2; 21:10) but on like Isaac he took time to wait upon the Lord and pray through and break the covenant and God blessed him with twin because of his patience and faith in God (Gen25:21). Before the birth of these children the Lord has already foretold about what we become of them; just like Ishmael and Isaac (Gen17:20-21), (verse22-23), but the question here is that did Isaac use any unrighteous method to get that from his brother? No, because many believe today that it was the blessing that Isaac blessed Jacob that made that to come to pass, but in the case of Esau and Jacob we can see the urge and readiness of their mother to do it any way or use any method to make sure that the word of God was fulfilled but remember Abraham didn't do so in is own time but instead entreated the Lord on behave of of Ishmael, so we have to be cognizant of how we interpret the message or the word of God or whatever revelation the Lord reveal to us that we did not understand we must make sure we seek the face of God for better interpretation (Dan2:16-19), please avoid using our own mentality to work things out which may be hazardous and brought lost of life if not prevented as we see in the life of this two brothers that almost collide into a terrible battle because of their mother, even the problem still spread to many generation after them because of little mistakes (Mal1:2-3; Rom9:13)
The question here is that what brought hatred between God and Esau? (Gen27:34-41) we can see through the reaction of this man that he believed in his father (man) than believing in God (Isaiah2:22; 31:1), his own believe was that it is only through the blessing of his father that can make him to be great in life and that was why he became dejected to point that he abhor hatred against his brother and begin to misbehave and going against his father in term of marriage that he has to married contrary to the commandment of God and the counsel of his father, I believe we have a lesson to learn from the revelation God revealed to Joseph's about the level he will attained to in life and the reaction of his father and his brethren towards him despite the fact that he grew up without mother and yet he moved on until everything written concerning him was fulfilled also Hezekiah in his critical condition: though it was national prophet that was sent to him but yet he put his confidence in God, he sees God more than seen prophet (man) (Gen37:5-10; Isaiah381-5) today many of us made the same mistakes because we believe man of God, than believing God and also misinterpret the vision of God by using our own human calculation or carnal method of solving life issues (Gen27:5-29).
It is true that Jacob through unrighteousness received, bought the birth right of his brother because he was the beloved of his mother; it is possible that his mother must have been giving him bad orientation/counsel/instruction of what he does, this happen most case in home where dad and mum share their children, I mean where daddy love the eldest and mummy love the youngest as example, many does the same mistake today by having special love towards a child than others because of prophesy or revelation that they have heard concerning him or her (Gen25:22; 27:5-13), (this man probably receive the blessing of his brother but remember one thing in (Gen25:22-23) that the Lord Himself has prophesied that the eldest will serve the youngest, in the case where Jacob receive the blessing of his brother, shows that he probably receive the blessing of a servant (I mean he received the blessing to serve other, because his brother was to served him), not only that, his pretense to be Esau; one thing to note is that God is not unrighteous (IJohn5:17). This is just like when a window 10 computer was reloaded to window 8 or less window or a mobile phone is downgrade from the version loaded on it, you must know how difficult it will be in getting some things done on it peradventure if it will work. That was reason why this man was tricked in time of marriage and also in issue of work that he struggle and pass through woe and challenges on like his brother that was with his father, think of one thing here: Jacob love Rachel (Gen29:18); he promised to serve Laban for seven years on his own accord for his love for her but what baffled me was that this man was tricked by his in-law because the day he received the blessing of Esau was the very day he put down the garment of being Jacob and wear the garment of Esau through deception and that was why he want Rachel and he was given Leah, if not for the word, mercy, and the covenant of God (John3:27) upon his life,  that was what make the Lord to request for his name before the pronouncement of the blessings of God, and that actually call for a change of name because his name have been tarnished with unrighteousness because the blessing of Abraham and Isaac has to be fulfilled in him; let me just call your attention to a thing: (Gen32:26-27) , remembered this man have been encountering angel in his journeys of life but the question is this, what moved the angle to asked for his name? (Zech3:3-7), I told you earlier that this man had a changed of apparel the day he lied to his father and that brought challenges on his way but the day he tarried with the Lord and tell the Lord the truth about his name, remember after his prayer that very night the spirit of anger in his brother vanished away to the extent that he urged him before he could receive present from him, likewise the blessing/promise of God also was restore to Joseph because she was the one he planned to marry and struggle for that 14years. There is no any other way out of the problem you are passing through than to make your ways right before God: Jacob repented by confessing his original name to God, not only this after he had done that he did restitution to his brother. Repent of your sins today and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and be save, the coming of the Lord is at hand.

O THAT THEY WERE WISE
Memory Verse: “O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!” (Deuteronomy 32:29).

Text: Daniel 12:1-3
T
He matter of the end is the end of the matter, God has set time for everything on earth (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). There is an ultimate end for our life here on earth. Whatever anyone does while alive on earth will take him to live in eternity either with God in heaven or with Satan in hell at one’s latter end. This is why the Bible is encouraging us to consider our latter end.
Question 1: What do you understand by ‘latter end’?
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Both heaven and hell are real. The Bible confirms to us that physical death is not the end; after death comes judgment which leads to heaven or hell (Hebrews 9:27). This answers the question of whether there is life after death. Sure, there is life! It is unending and called eternity. Where do you want to spend your eternity? Ordinarily, everyone wants to go to heaven; unfortunately it is not everyone that is qualified for it.
Question 2: From John 3:3-7, 16-18, what qualifies one for heaven, and what takes one to hell?
a.                 Heaven: ______________________________________________________
b.                 Hell: _________________________________________________________
From Mathew 7:13 and 14, there is the confirmation of the two destinations. People throng to hell – a place of damnation, while just few have found the way to eternal life in heaven. What qualifies the few on that narrow way is their rebirth following their believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and  their acceptance of Him as their all in all. Those on the broad way remain there because of their refusal to believe and accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. This is dangerous! However, there is opportunity to decamp and join the few on the pathway to heaven. It is important you consider your latter end.
Question 3: How can one prepare for eternity with God?
i.                   Galatians 5:19-21; Acts 3:19 ______________________________________
ii.                 Proverbs 28:13 _________________________________________________
iii.              John 1:12 _____________________________________________________
iv.              John 8:31 _____________________________________________________
For a sinner to make heaven, he must take the required steps to salvation. He must repent and confess all his/her sins (King David did it in Psalm 51; you must do it too). He must also renounce all his acts of sinful practices. To become a child of God who is ready to be with Him in eternity, he must receive Christ into his life and believe on His name. Having become a believer in Christ Jesus, he must continue with Him to the end of his life (John8:31; Matthew 24:13). The opposite of sinful living is righteous living. Sinful living leads to hell fire, but righteous living leads to heaven. Therefore, be wise to consider your latter end.
